COALITION OF PRO-LIFE LEADERS ANNOUNCES PRESS CONFERENCE
ON NEW LIFE-AT-CONCEPTION INITIATIVE
“She’s a Baby” campaign to include radio, video, and grassroots activism
Des Moines, IOWA – The Coalition of Pro-Life Leaders, or CoPLL – a united group of ten, pro-life organizations active in Iowa – announces a press conference to be held at the Iowa Capitol, Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 10:00a.m., in Room 116.
The press conference will reassert the Coalition’s commitment to seeing Iowa law protect all human life from the moment of conception and will reveal details of the new, “She’s a Baby” campaign, which engages video, radio, and grassroots activism to inspire fellow Iowans in the defense of life.
“Iowans have the opportunity right now to finally do something that will protect the lives of our most innocent,” said Jenifer Bowen of Iowa Right to Life, a CoPLL member. “With pro-life majorities in the House, Senate, and the governor’s mansion, and SF253, the Life at Conception Act, on the table, it’s time for Iowans to stand united and declare that together, we will defend Iowa’s babies from death by abortion.”
“That’s the heart of the new She’s a Baby campaign,” said Maggie DeWitte of Iowans for LIFE, a CoPLL member. “Because by now we’ve all heard the arguments about abortion. And people have understandable concerns. But there’s one truth no argument can argue away: That little girl in her mother’s womb? She’s a baby.”
“The She’s a Baby campaign reminds us all we’re talking about babies here. She IS a baby!” echoed Bob Vander Plaats of The FAMiLY LEADER, a CoPLL member. “Now is the time for Iowa to lead by doing what is right in passing SF 253. If not now … when? If not us … who?”
The press conference is open to all members of the press and will include a presentation, followed by a limited time for questions.
